Hydro-power plants are able to produce electrical energy in a sustainable way. A known format for producing is through generation scheduling, which task usually established as Unit Commitment problem. The challenge this process define the amount of that each turbine-generator needs deliver plant, fulfill requested dispatch commitment, while coping with operational restrictions. An optimal scheduling turbine-generators hydro-power can offer larger be generated respect non-optimized schedules, significantly less water consumption. This work presents an efficient mathematical modelling real plant Brazil. optimization method based on different versions Coral Reefs Optimization algorithm Substrate Layers (CRO) proposed effective tackle approach uses search operators single population refine We have shown solution obtained CRO using Gaussian exploration competitive solutions terms production. results show huge savings 13.98 billion (liters water) monthly projected versus scheduling.
